16 years ago Riswandi left the san francisco bay area to return home, he had studied photography in San Francisco, and returned home to join his family business. - we stayed in contact for a while, .. then some 6 month ago i received an email with a video of some people doing ”eishin ryu” .. and through this i learned he had continued his practice for all this time. as a result i am now at his home and we have being working on his waza. impressive is that his training kept his technique proper, so instead of having to rework it is enough o review a bit, and move one to learn more and work on more advanced waza, or ways of doing kihon. All that while he is being a gracious host, with a a lovely family and being very kind to langlang. - if you ever tried to establish your own practice away from the dojo, you will realize how much of a feet he actually accomplished. - If you teach iaido, and you are fortunate enough to have this kind of a student .. you can smile.
